# Mobile apps

Machine on Android, iPhone and iPad. Get the app, what you can do on your phone, and how it differs from Machine Desktop.

**Machine Mobile** brings your bots, threads, automations and Live calls to
your phone and tablet. It uses the same account as Machine Desktop and the
web app, so everything's already there when you sign in. There's no pairing
step.

Good for: checking whether a bot finished, answering a question or approval
while you're out, starting a task from wherever you are, and talking a job
through on a [Live call](/docs/desktop/mobile/live-on-your-phone).

## Get the app

| Device | Where | Needs |

In Machine Desktop, click your name at the bottom of the sidebar and choose
**Mobile App** for the same links.

### iPhone and iPad (TestFlight)

The iPhone and iPad app is a beta, delivered through Apple's **TestFlight**
app:

1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the [TestFlight link](https://testflight.apple.com/join/dM3pvSxr).
2. If asked, install **TestFlight** from the App Store.
3. Tap **Accept**, then **Install**.

## What you can do on your phone

| **Group chats** | Talk to several bots at once. |
| **Share to Machine** | Send a link or text from any app to a bot (Android). See [Share, notifications and offline](/docs/desktop/mobile/share-notifications-offline). |
| **Notifications** | Hear when a bot finishes, even with the app closed (Android). |

## Phone or desktop?

Some things only make sense on a computer and stay on Machine Desktop:

| Only on Machine Desktop | Why |

| [This PC](/docs/desktop/this-pc/overview) | Bots work on the computer running Machine Desktop. You can still follow and answer those threads from your phone. |
| The [Live view](/docs/desktop/live/live-view) | It needs a big screen. On a phone, use the bot's computer instead. |
| Voice messages and built-in dictation | Use your phone keyboard's microphone, or a Live call. |
| Branching from a message, hover actions | Use long-press on a phone instead. |
