# Find your way around

The Bots, Routines and Settings tabs, your bots and threads, search, teams, the New menu, and every gesture in Machine Mobile.

Canonical page: https://themachine.myapps.ai/docs/desktop/mobile/find-your-way-around

## The three tabs

At the bottom of the home screen:

| Tab | What's there |
|---|---|
| **Bots** | All your bots and group chats. Tap one to open it. |
| **Routines** | Your automations. See [Routines](/docs/desktop/mobile/routines). |
| **Settings** | Your profile, appearance, usage and more. See [Settings](/docs/desktop/mobile/settings). |

## Bots

![The Bots tab](/images/docs/desktop/phone-home.webp)

Each bot shows:

- Its **mascot**, with a status dot, the same as in the desktop sidebar:
**blue** while it works, **red** when its last run failed, and **green**
  when it's ready.
- Its **name** and when you last talked.
- A second line: **Working…** while it's busy, otherwise its last message.
- A number when threads have something new.

Your bots are grouped: **Pinned** first, then **Group chats**, then bots
under **Today**, **This week** and **Earlier**.

If you use teams, the list follows them instead: **Pinned**, then **Group
chats** that aren't in a team, then a heading for each team with its bots
and group chats, and last **Other bots** for bots that aren't in a team. Tap
a team's name to fold it.

### Search

Type in **Search** at the top. A couple of letters filters your bots and
group chats by name; keep typing to search inside messages too.

## Threads

Tap a bot to see its threads.

- Each thread shows its title, when it last changed, and the last thing said.
- A **green dot** means the thread's computer is awake.
- A **PC badge** means the thread works on someone's [This PC](/docs/desktop/this-pc/overview),
  with **online** or **offline**.
- Tap **+** to start a new thread. **Search threads** finds one by name.
- Tap the bot's name at the top to open its profile and settings.

Group chats skip this screen and open straight into the chat.

## The New menu

Tap **+** at the top of the Bots tab:

| Choice | Does |
|---|---|
| **New Project** | Create a new bot. |
| **New room** | A group chat: *"Several bots, one chat."* Name it, pick a team, pick its members. |
| **New team** | A heading to group bots under: *"Group bots under a header."* |

## Gestures

| Gesture | Where | Does |
|---|---|---|
| **Tap** | Anything | Opens it. |
| **Long-press** | A bot | The bot's menu (below). |
| **Long-press** | A thread | **Rename thread**, **Pin to top**, **Move to folder**, **Delete thread**. |
| **Long-press** | A message | Message actions. See [Chat on your phone](/docs/desktop/mobile/chat-on-your-phone#message-actions). |
| **Long-press** | A team name | **Rename team**, **Remove team**. |
| **Swipe left** | A thread | **Pin to top** and **Delete**. |
| **Pull down** | Bots or threads list | Refresh. |
| **Swipe from the left edge** | Any screen | Go back. |
| **Drag down** | A sheet | Close it. Or tap outside it. |

On Android, the **back** button goes back one screen, and closes a sheet, a
panel or Settings first if one is open.

### The bot menu

Long-press a bot:

![Long-pressing a bot](/images/docs/desktop/phone-bot-menu.webp)

| Choice | Does |
|---|---|
| **New thread** | Starts a fresh thread with the bot. |
| **Edit Profile** | Opens the bot's settings: name, Soul, skills, channels and more. |
| **Pin** / **Unpin** | Keeps the bot at the top. |
| **Mark as Unread** | Brings the bot's badge back. |
| **Move to team** | Files the bot under a team, or **No team**, or **New team…**. |
| **Kick** | *"Stuck? Stop this turn, reconnect to the bot's computer and reload the thread."* |
| **Duplicate** | Copies the bot. |
| **Archive** | Hides the bot without deleting it. |
| **Delete bot** | Removes the bot from Machine, on every device. Asks first. |

> **Deleting can't be undone**
> **Delete bot** and **Delete thread** remove them from Machine for good,
> including the bot's computer and files. Download anything you need first.

## Pins and previews are per phone

Pinned threads and thread previews are kept on each phone. Pinning a thread
on your phone doesn't pin it on Machine Desktop.
