# Make images, video and audio

How to ask a bot for images, video, music, voice and 3D with Pixio, with example requests, tips for better results, and what you get back.

Canonical page: https://themachine.myapps.ai/docs/desktop/pixio/make-media

Once [Pixio is connected](/docs/desktop/pixio/connect), just ask in any
thread. You don't need to name a model; the bot picks one for you.

## Good requests

A good request says **what**, **what for**, and **any must-haves**:

| Instead of… | Try… |
|---|---|
| *"Make a logo."* | *"A simple round logo for Rise Bakery: a loaf and a sunrise, warm orange on white, works small."* |
| *"Make a video."* | *"A six-second clip of this croissant photo with steam rising, for an Instagram story (vertical)."* |
| *"Some music."* | *"30 seconds of upbeat acoustic guitar for a bakery video, no vocals."* |
| *"Read this."* | *"Read this script as a warm, friendly woman's voice, a bit slower than normal."* |

Useful extras:

- **Size or shape:** square, vertical (9:16), widescreen (16:9), or exact
  pixels.
- **Style:** photo, illustration, watercolour, flat vector, 3D render.
- **Text in the image:** put it in quotes, exactly as it should appear.
- **How many:** *"three options"*. The bot asks first if one request needs
more than 4 generations (a Video Agent job always counts as a batch), or if
the run is expensive. See [the rules it follows](/docs/desktop/pixio/credits-and-spending#the-five-rules-bots-follow).
- **Budget:** *"keep it under 50 credits"*. See [Credits and spending](/docs/desktop/pixio/credits-and-spending).

## What you can ask for

### Images

- New images from a description, in any style.
- Edits to your own photo: *"remove the background"*, *"make it evening"*,
*"put this product on a marble table"*.
- Vector art (SVG) for logos and icons.

### Video

- From a description, or from an image: *"animate this photo"*.
- Extend or edit an existing clip.
- Lip-sync a face to audio, or make a talking avatar.

### Audio

- Music and jingles.
- Voiceovers from a script.
- Sound effects.

### 3D

- A 3D model from a description or a picture.
- Retexture, rig or animate a model.

### Your Pixio account

- *"List my Pixio assets from last week."*
- *"Put all the grand-opening images in a folder called Opening."*
- *"Run my 'product shot' workflow on these three photos."*
- *"Save this mascot as a locked character so it always looks the same."*

## What happens when you ask

You'll see each step in the thread as **Used a connector · pixio · …**:

![Writer's Pixio steps: check the account, find prices, generate, collect the result, save it](/images/docs/desktop/pixio-in-chat.webp)

1. **account_get:** checks your plan, credits and free uses.
2. **pricing_list:** looks up the models of the right kind, priced for your
   account.
3. **generate:** starts the job (after asking you, if it's expensive).
4. **generation_get:** waits for it to finish.
5. **Saves the file** onto its computer.

Then it replies with what it made, which model it used, and what it cost.

## Get the result

The bot saves everything on its computer. To get it:

- If the reply links the file, click it, or
- Open the bot's computer panel (**monitor** icon) → **Computer** and
  download it. See [Files](/docs/desktop/cloud-computer/files).
- Or just ask: *"Attach the poster to your reply."*
- In the [Live view](/docs/desktop/live/live-view), new images and media land
in the **Images** and **Media** desktop folders.

## Make it better

Treat it like working with a designer:

- *"Warmer colours, and make the text bigger."*
- *"Same picture, but vertical for a story."*
- *"I like option 2. Make three more like it."*

Each round is a new generation and uses credits.

## Use your own files

Attach a photo to your message, or point to a file on the bot's computer:
*"Animate grand-opening-poster.png so the loaf gently rotates."* See
[Your files and key](/docs/desktop/pixio/your-files-and-key#use-your-own-files).
