Review and ship

Read an agent's changes, get a second review, commit, open a pull request, and let Machine Code watch it until it's green.

Read the changes

Open Changes (Ctrl+Shift+G) to see everything the agent changed, file by file. Click a file to see its diff, or open it in the code editor to make your own edits.

The diff of an agent's changes to index.html, with Revert all, Commit, and Review with Machine above it and the changed files on the right

The Commits section lists the commits on the task's branch. On your main branch, or when nothing is ahead of the base branch, it shows the branch's Recent commits instead. Click one to see its files and diffs.

Review with Machine

For a second pair of eyes, click Review with Machine in the diff or in the chat's Changes card. A Machine agent reads the diff and reports what it finds. Ask the task's agent to fix anything you agree with.

Commit

Click Commit in the toolbar, or Commit… above the diff. Write a message, or leave it blank and Machine writes one. Click Commit.

The Commit changes dialog: 3 files will be committed on this branch, with a commit message typed in

Open a pull request

Click Create PR.

  1. Machine Code pushes the branch and opens Create a pull request.
  2. Write the title and description yourself, or click Write with Machine to draft them from the changes.
  3. Tick Draft if it isn't ready for review.
  4. Click Push and create pull request.

Pull requests work with GitHub. If the GitHub command line (gh) isn't on your computer, Machine Code uses the GitHub app you connected in Machine instead.

After that, the toolbar shows View PR, and the pull request pane shows its Checks.

Watch a pull request

Turn on Watch PR in the pull request pane and Machine Code keeps an eye on it for you. When a check fails, a reviewer comments, or the branch has conflicts, it wakes the agent to deal with it. It gives up after a few rounds, so a stuck PR doesn't spend credits forever.

To fix everything at once, click Fix all … with agent.

Auto-merge when green

Turn on Auto-merge when green as well, and Machine Code merges the pull request once its checks pass. You can also merge yourself with Merge: squash, merge commit, or rebase.

Watching works for GitHub pull requests.
