Sign in
Sign in to Machine Desktop with an emailed code or a password, fix common sign-in problems, and sign out.
Machine Desktop uses your normal Machine account: the same one you use on the web and on your phone. You'll see the same bots and conversations everywhere.
There are two ways to sign in. Most people use the email code.

Sign in with an email code
Enter your email
On Sign in to Machine Desktop, type your Email and click Send code. Use the email address you signed up with.
Find the code
Machine emails you a 6-digit code. It usually arrives within a minute. The code works once and expires after an hour.
No email? Check your spam or junk folder, then click Send a new code.
Enter the code
Type the code into Code from the email and click Sign in.
Sign in with a password
- On the sign-in screen, click Sign in with a password instead.
- Enter your Email and Password.
- Click Sign in.
If you see "That account has no password", your account uses email codes only. Click Email me a code instead.
What about API keys?
The sign-in screen no longer offers Use an API key instead?. Sign in with an email code or your password, so you get the full experience of your account, including your invites.
If something goes wrong

Staying signed in
You only sign in once per computer. Machine Desktop remembers you, even after you restart. Your sign-in is kept in your computer's secure keychain (Keychain on Mac, or Windows' built-in credential protection), not in an ordinary file.
If you open the app while you're offline, you stay signed in and see Try again. Click it once you're back online.
Sign out
Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Sign out.
Signing out doesn't delete anything. Your bots and conversations are on Machine and are there when you sign in again.
Delete your account
Open Settings → General → Account and click Continue on the web next to Delete account. Account deletion is done on the Machine web app.
