iPad

Machine on iPad gives you the full desktop layout with the sidebar, chat and panels side by side, including the Live view.

On an iPad, Machine Mobile uses the same layout as Machine Desktop: the sidebar of bots on the left, the chat in the middle, and panels such as bot settings and the bot's computer on the right.

Machine on iPad: the desktop layout

So everything in the Machine Desktop docs applies, including the Live view and the Live button in the chat header.

Phone layout or desktop layout?

The app picks the layout from the screen width, live, as you rotate:

On a medium-width iPad, bot settings and the bot's computer cover the chat instead of sitting beside it. Close them to get back to the chat.

What's different from a computer

  • No This PC. The iPad can't be a bot's computer, but you can follow and answer This PC threads.
  • No voice messages or built-in dictation. Use the keyboard's microphone, or a Live call.
  • Live calls use a simpler connection on iPad, so the bot can't make pictures or search during the call. Live settings don't apply there yet: calls are always hands-free, with Glyph's default voice.
  • Updates come through TestFlight.
